University of Arizona

As Edwin put it early in the week on his Facebook: We are off to defend our title. Well, we did it!! 5-0
Game 1 vs Kaos 20's we beat them 15-11 but one player gave us tons of problem with his offensive drives. Our counter attack was great!!
Game 1 vs Old Pueblo (players from New Mexico and ASU) pretty easy game 15-2
Our 3rd game of the day was against U of A "B" team we won 14-5.

This put us 1st in our Bracket and had to cross over and play 2nd in the other bracket - Solano Beach (Carsbad) we were up most of the game and at the end of the game we almost gave them the game but pulled a rabbit out of the hat and won by 1 goal 11-10.

This win put us in the Gold Game and we thought it would be against U of A "A" but Kaos 20 beat them so we were in the Gold Game vs Kaos 20. Kaos 20 was the same team from the 1st game they got another goalie from another team we think it was the New Mexico Goalie, the picked up 3-4 other top players from other team in the tournament. It was very upsetting but pulled out the win in double overtime sudden death!!! Everyone played grat a true team effort!!!

Every game except the game against Solano (Carsbad) we played great - did not take any shot just because we were free, no turnovers... which meant they other team did not get counter off us. We looked a very good team out there...no rookie mistakes.

Congrats to: Our goalies were outstanding - Rob and Marcus. Two Meters: Tony, Thor and Dandy (Louie too). Our two meter defenders: Adrain, Tony, Damon ..Damon did not get to play with us in the final game, he was at the Hospital getting 6 staples in his head when on the of the Solano guys grabbed his head and his knee to Damon's head. In the 1st game vs Kaos Dandy got kicked to the head by #6, and Louie took care of #6 and cut his lip on a follow thru goal on man up, which Max made the assist. Our Attackers were aw some: Jacint played as good if not better then he does in workouts!!!! Yeah!!! Edwin had a goals along with some awesome assists. Robert played great, posting up when need, making some good outside shot. Max did very good up on many counters made few goals and learn tons!!

This tournament was more of a win because we improved on the things we have been stressing in workouts: - no turn overs, not trying to make the hot dog assist, not taking a shot just because we could but working the a shot because there was an opening because we created the defense out of position.

Thor hosted the BBQ again - I will post a special picture of Thor later. And a few other pictures.

Great job Guys!!!!!
