Kearns - Make Overs

Zach - and his team took 3rd place - Zach's new hair style was much improved.
Gabby - and her team took 2nd place - Gabby took a shower and the team wore shower caps.
Josh and his all male team took 1st place - there were no females on this team so they did not have anything to work with - so they went to the front desk and got a stapler and tape - too funny

Kearns Results

Great Weekend... Top 2 Things I am most proud of:

1. The hotel staff said they have many teams/groups stay in their hotel and we are the best!! This says so much about our team!

2. On Sunday after the scrimmages with players from Utah and Colorado the coaches from Colorado told me how much they enjoyed coaching the Vegas players... very respectful and knew the game.

Other great moments at the tournament:

-how much our B team improved with each game!! Great Job! Take what you learned from Kearns and work hard in workouts to keep improving.

-A's In the Gold Medal game, second quarter how intense you came out, when they got physical you did not just sink.

Great job, I really enjoyed this weekend!!!

Tournaments

In recent Tournaments we have fallen short on players who said they will attend and then do not attend after cost have been figured out, leaving us short on playes and money to pay our bills. Because this has become an on going problem I am now going to collect a non refundable deposit when asking if you are going to attend the tournament. If you attend, your deposit will go toward the cost of the tournament, if you do not attend you will lose your deposit. And if you do not turn in your deposit by the due date you will be charged a late penalty 10-20% of the total cost (at least $20 and not more than $100). Also when signing up for the tournaments you MUST let me know you are coming late or leaving early.

For our Summer Tournament August 15 - 16th (Sat and Sunday) I need to know if you will attend, Your total cost of $25 will be collect on or before July 7th (7/7). This is for all Masters (planning on having 3 teams - A and B in the Open and a C in the "B" Division). We will also enter our older club players in the "B" Division with: Hunter, Max, Brenden, Zach, Eleanor, Dr Phil, Gabby, Josh, Connor, Adam, Ashton, Steven Kass.

Sorry - no more nice guy - this has not been fair to the team, we have been short paying for tournaments and have had to take from our fundraisers to pay the bills.

$25 is due on or before July 7th (7/7)!!

Masters Nationals

Great weekend of Water Polo!!! Our men's 20 and 30 teams did a great job! Much improved play!! We have been working on three things this past month:

1. Not turning the ball over by making bad passes and taking shot that feed the other teams counter attack..... We even dumped the ball.... Edwin even dumped the ball.

2. Our 6 on 5 last month in San Diego was something like 1/20... and at National we were much improved, even when we missed they were the shots we should have taken!!! In fact the game the 30's won was on a 6 on 5... drew the kickout on the counter attack - time out, we put the right people in the correct spots and scored with less than a minute to play.

3. The Art of War - making the other team think we are going to do one thing but strike in another spot.

Our women: Vaune took home one gold in the 50's and a bronze in the 40's. Lee played great!! She was a real factor in the games, she played with Vaune on the 40's and also won the Bronze... I think she was holding the famous Maureen on their last second play trying to tied the score.

Erin and Carrie played for Canada's Splash and did well, both were stars on their teams. Erin played in the 20's and Carrie played in the 20's and 30's.
Dandy's mom had a BBQ for the entire team Sat night... it was great food and we all had fun just hanging out together. After the BBQ we still had time to spend some time at the Social sponsored by the tournament... at our hotel.

I was very happy with our progress!! But we do need to swim more!!! We just don't have the pool space and time at workouts, so if you can get in and swim on your own it will really help every one's water polo.
