Club: Be at the pool by 12:45 pm - you will be finished by 3:15 pm

Masters: Be ready to play at 3:30 pm. 3-3:15 you can do an easy swim. 3:15-3:30 warm up passing - shooting. Game time: 3:15 pm

Few reminders:

1. Club we still have DVD's for sale - I watched this last night, it is awesome. Lou did a great job. Next year we will put masters pictures in the DVD. DVD's are $10.00 each.... see Dale's Mom.

2. This Sat's workout will be our 1st Annual Super Pool Game (in honor of the Super Bowl). Thursday the Team Captain will select team and both groups (older and younger) will begin at 12:45 and end at 3:15 pm.

3. Master's Sat workout 3:15 to 4:30 pm and we will have our 1st Annual Super Pool Game. (Hunter need to to stay Marcus will not be there on Sat - Hunter for the month of Feb on Mon and Wed please come to masters).

4. We have suits - towels - bags in stock.... see Tony.

5 Masters still waiting to hear if we are in for the San Diego Tournament in May.

6. Mark down these dates, everyone will need to be free to work our Festival and Age Group Spring Tournament: Feb 20-22nd and March 20-21nd.

7. Master's don't forget March 2nd we start working out at the Multi Gen Pool Mon and Wed 6:30-8 pm. You only pay the $35.00 to the City, you can sign up online or at the front desk at either Whitney or MGP.

As you know the UNLV pool will be closed March 1st to at least Jan 2010. I met with the City of Henderson and we are going to be working out at the Multi Gen Pool (50 mt Outdoor Pool) from 6:30 pm to 8 pm Monday and Wednesday. Saturday's at Whitney Ranch, the dues will be paid to the City of Henderson for $35 a month.

You can sign up at the front desk at both pools (MGP or Whitney). The codes for the dues are:

This is better than going to Dula and swimming with toilet paper!!

Club - Sat - Jan 24th

News: Sat Lou has made DVD's of the kids from years past to the present. If you watched the DVD at our Xmas Party this one is even better: Lou has added more picture. We are selling them for $10 as a team fund raiser. Bring your money, help support the team.

I will meet with any parents Sat 1 pm to talk about the ODP (Olympic Development Program) Zone Team. United States Water Polo has made a few new changes that are important to our players.

Palm Spring Tournament

The Palm Springs tournament has been canceled - Palm Springs did not send out entries in time and they only had a few teams enter. I will bring my check book and refund the money to: Steven - Murphy - Ashton - Adam. Did I miss anyone?

Men's Tournament May 1,2,3rd

San Diego will be hosting a Men's Tournament May 1, 2, 3rd (Friday, Sat, Sun). This is about one month before Masters National (Master's National is our #1 tournament for the year), can we get enough players to attend both San Diego and Masters, can you get off work that many days and the cost for both?

I will ask you on Wed if you can attend.

Women's Open Tournament

The University of Washington is hosting a tournament here in Vegas again. We have the following players so far: Vaune, Lee, Shannon, Eleanor, Gabby, Santana, Carrie. Erin are you in? Sandy Vessey will be our goalie and bring a few subs with her: Laura Baker and Teresa Breckon Bixby.

April 11th and 12th - I think the games will be a Dula. Sent the entry fee in today. Cost to players - cover entry fee which will depend on the # of players we have... from $40 to $50 each.

Steven Kassinger

Congratulations to Steven!! Steven is presently in Washington DC for Obama's Presidential Inauguration. Our Steven is a member of the Green Valley March Band, which was one of millions high school bands to be select to play for this Historic occasion.

Wow what an honor!! Steven we are all very proud of you!!!

Go to usawaterpolo.com - US Water Polo did a little story on the Masters Festival we are hosting this Feb and used a picture of Magee's team which included Mark Wasik.

Some of our masters should think about signing up: Leo, Nelson, Kim, Lynsy, Shannon (the cannon) Lee, Wasik, Will.... you will learn new things from great coaches and have fun.

Club and Masters - Workout Times for Sat

We are breaking the Saturday workouts into 3 different groups:

Younger Club:
1-2:15 (1-2 in the water 2:15 on deck classroom)

Older Club:
1:50 - 3:15 -1:50-2 pm warm up on your own in lane closes to our area DO NOT
make us tell you to get in the water.
-2-3:15 pm Scrimmage

Masters:
3:15 - 4:30 -3:15 to 3:30 Warm up on your own in the lane closes to our area.
-3:30-4:30 pm Scrimmage

Masters

Beginning March 2, 2009 the UNLV pool will be closed and will not be reopened till Jan 2010 (10 months).

I have made arrangement to workout at the 50 mt outdoor pool on Monday and Wed's from 6:30 to 8 pm. Everyone will have to register with the City at the front desk. There is a slight cost increase to $35.00 a month.

Get those parka's and big towels out. We will continue at UNLV until March 2nd.

Whitney and MGP

The City of Henderson has cut the Aquatic budget, they have cut their staff hours which means they will not have staff to take out or put back the lane lines and goals. So the players will be moving lane lines and goals.

Everyone help!!! I do not want to see 10 people standing by the ball cart waiting for balls - the little kids will get the balls, the older players will take out goals, the rest are doing lane lines.

Holiday Party

FUN night yesterday. Thank you Leaders for hosting the party, the kids loved the upstairs Wii, Air Hockey and the Pool Table downstairs... I think the parents like it more keeping the noise in one place.

Tony great beef and chicken as usual, all the side dishes and sweets were awesome. Adam your Oreo bon bon was the hit - ask John!!

The gift exchange was pretty funny - the best was when Al wanted someone to take her puzzle gift and then she got a box of cereal - lol. Al's new name the cereal girl.

Eleanor and Jake thanks for doing a great job setting all this up.

Congratulations Dandy and Shannon

Dandy got engaged over the holidays - Congrats!!!! So we threw balls at Dandy tonight.... Dandy was brave and went off the high board closes to the deck and got nailed by at least 3 balls.... he was protecting himself all the way down.

And I did not find out until after workout and the lane lines were in, the balls were put away - OUR Shannon also got engaged!! She did not want to say anything, she remembers when she was 11 years old and got nailed by a ball and she had a big bruise for 6 months. So Congrats Shannon!!!

Welcome Andre

If you see some guy on deck talking to the Goalies, this is our new Goalie Coach:

Andre Setaghian, he coached at Burbank High School where his teams all did well. When you get a chance introduce yourself to Andre and welcome him to our Polo Family.

We will not be having workouts on Friday: till it warms up. We can only get into the Outdoor MG Pool on Fridays.

Holiday Party this Sat at 5 pm - check with Jake or Eleanor.

Older players going to Palm Spring make sure you/parents have spoken with Trish.
