JO's - Day 2

Well we went from a high to an all time low - but picked ourselves back up. Today we played two teams that were 1st in their brackets - LAWPC they smoked us on both ends of the pool. 16-0 They were good and we played poorly... even if we played out best we would not have come close to match their play.

The next game was against another team that won their bracket - Coast from the Newport/Long Beach area. We played better but still not our best game. Lost this gaem too. Which puts us in another bracket with team playing for 17th place to 24th place.

We have 4 games tomorrow because of a mistake in the game schedule - our firt game is against Red 608 a team from Northern California they place in the top 8 last year. Our 2nd game will be against Greenwich another team that finished in the top 8 teams last year. Our 3rd game is aginst Splash Valley. Our 4th and last game will be determined by our win lost record in this new bracket.

Good news is we will finish ahead of 24 other teams!!! The game is being called very different, when on the wing they are allowing the player to push off when making a wing pass, the can come over the top of your head to steal the ball when on the wings..... I am going to make a copy of page 10 of the rule book and show the ref's the picture of a player pushing off and keep calling out page 10 when the other team pushes off.

Wish us luck - we will need it!!! It is a good thing to be in the top level but the games are very hard - every player on the other teams are very big, strong, fast and have loads of experience but we will hang in there. This is better than being in the losing bracket and playing weaker teams.
