Blood Bath Game

NBC will air an interview about the Blood Bath Game in 1956 tomorrow Wed Dev 6th at 4 pm (short slot) and at 5 pm (longer slot). It's a small world: My (Sandy) 1st water polo coach was Nick Martin (he changed his name) - Nick was the team captain from Hungary, his entire Olympic team played Russia for the Gold Medal - this was during the time Russia took over Hungary so the game meant so much to Hungary. After the game all the players defected! In 1977 Jeno Ats also a member of this Olympic team was the Executive Director for Water Polo Canada. Jeno invited my club team from Commerce to play in an International tournament for women. When we came home the City Council from Commerce asked me to invite teams from around the world and the City would host every team. This is how Women's Water Polo got started - which is now an Olympic Sport. Now Jeno lives in Las Vegas and Adam's mom friend is Tom from ABC News and did a story on the 50th anniversity of this Blood Bath! Small World huh?
