Spring Tournament
Thank you all for helping at our Spring Tournament. This was something we want to host every year - next year will are planning on bring back our 24 hour tournament which will include: age group and master's teams. Thank you masters for working the table (the club players felt lost because they did not have to work) also for reffin the games... this saved us so much money!!! Thank you Cheryl for taking charge of the concession stand and all the parents who helped behind the table. As usual Jake did an outstanding job as tournament director and Matt and Trish Taylor for helping Jake. Thank Louie Chanove for taking pictures and making the awards for the tournament. Joe for assigning the refs. Besides the wind and rain on Sunday it was a great tournament.

Club Players a Must Read
A few years ago Doc Hunkler (Polo Planet) wrote an Article on Play Together, Stay Together, and Succeed Together - Good reading for players who want to play in College.

High School Swimming
Saturday I had a short talk with the older age group players. The point I wanted to make regarding swimming and water polo is:
1. The swim coaches let the swimmers miss swim workouts because they are swimming on a team, so these swimmers do not have to swim for 2.5 hours and then turn around and swim another 2 hours with their club swim team. I have concerns our water polo players are not given the same set of rules and they will have to swim with the high school swim team for 2.5 hours and then turn around and workout 2 hour for water polo. Not only will they be tired they will not have time to do homework and everything is going to suffer.
2. I began our talk on Saturday about how I understand that High School Swimming is important to each of you because this is a way to get a swimming Letter. Also a time to be with friends from school. I totally understand and said this several times during the talk.
3. I also said I would hate to see them miss workouts for swimming, mainly Zach... because he was the only player giving up workouts (Masters) to swim. Thinking he needed the credits for next year. Adam and several players have me sign a form taking them out of a P.E. class and they receive the credit like they were on the team.
From what I am hearing back the kids got the wrong impression and think they cannot swim on the swim team..... I never said that and never would!!! I did say high school swimming is during the same time period before ODP's and it will hurt your chances of moving your polo forward.
Parents if you have questions - Please come talk to me!!!
